PolioPlus Society

The PolioPlus Society is a program within Rotary International that recognizes individuals who commit to donating a recurring amount to the PolioPlus Fund until polio is eradicated. Essentially, it's a way for Rotarians, Rotaractors, and their friends to contribute financially to the global effort to end polio. 

Here's a more detailed breakdown: 

• Recurring Donation:

  The core of the PolioPlus Society is a commitment to donate a specific amount annually, often $100 or more, until the world is certified polio-free.
• Recognition:

  Members are recognized for their commitment, often with a pin, certificate, or other form of recognition, depending on the specific Rotary District.
• Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Match:

  Donations to the PolioPlus Fund are eligible for a 2:1 match from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, further amplifying the impact of individual contributions.
• District-Led:

  Each Rotary District can establish and manage its own PolioPlus Society, allowing for flexibility in how the program is implemented and recognized.
• End Polio Goal:

  The PolioPlus Society is a key part of Rotary International's commitment to the global effort to eradicate polio
